Tumbling
- Do I have a toe-touch back handspring?
- Do I have running tumbling?
- What am I working towards? What besides a round-off will I do at tryouts?
- Cartwheels= 1pt
- Round-off=2pt, with back-handspring=3pts depending on technique
- Toe touch back hand spring 3+ pts- depending on technique
- Round-off back hand spring with more 3-5 pts depending on technique and add ons.
Jumps
1. Practice in front to the mirror. Ask yourself:
a. Is my head up?
b. Are my toes pointed?
c. Where are my arms?
d. Check Mrs. Wagner’s website. Look at your form. Does it need work?
Motions
Where are my arms and legs?
1. Are they in the right position?
2. Am I snapping my motions or floating them?
Stunting/Basket-toss
1. Am I multi-positional? Which means:
a. Bases/back spots- can I do any of these 3 spots?
b. Am I using proper technique?
c. Flyers- how flexible am I? Heel stretch, scale, scorpion?
Conditioning and strength
1. Can I run 2 miles in under 20 min?
2. Proper sit-up and push-ups?
3. Stairs. 10X at 2:30 each time shouting the cheer?
Do I love what I do?
Can I make the commitment?
