    Description:

     Individual will be responsible for customary duties associated with the position.

    This work involves responsibility for the performance of routine building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance  tasks. Cleaning tasks are performed according to well-defined procedures and maintenance tasks are performed  under direct supervision or according to specific instructions.
    Requirements:

    Applicant must have working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment; ability to follow simple oral and written instructions; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other manual tasks; ability to get along well with others; thoroughness; dependability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Civil Service eligibility requirements also apply.

  • Title:

    Custodian

    Description:

    Cornwall Central School District is seeking a full-time Custodian for the 2nd shift. Individual will be responsible for customary duties associated with the position.
    The work involves responsibility for the efficient and economical cleaning and maintenance of a small or medium size school, municipal building or for a large building on an assigned shift. Work is performed under general supervision with some leeway for use of independent judgment in meeting approved standards of building cleanliness and operation. Supervision is exercised over the work of a small number of cleaning or custodial personnel. Does related work as required.
    Requirements:

    Applicants must have good knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment and ability to use them efficiently and economically; skill in the operation of cleaning equipment; ability to make minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical repairs and perform a variety of routine maintenance tasks; ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions; ability to lead and supervise the work of others; willingness to perform custodial and other manual tasks; thoroughness; dependability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Civil Service eligibility requirements also apply.

    Title:

    Food Service Workers

    Description:

    The Cornwall Central School District has openings for Food Service Workers. Daily hours are 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM. Days are Monday through Friday in conjunction with the Student Calendar. Good attendance is essential. No prior experience required.

    Successful candidates will be trained in proper service of school meals in accordance with USDA regulations.
    Requirements:

    Candidates must possess a High School diploma and must also obtain NY State fingerprint clearance prior to the start of employment. Experience as a cashier is desirable, but not required. Good attendance is essential.

    The Cornwall Central School District is seeking a Lunch Monitor for the various school buildings in the District.   Applicants must possess a High School diploma and must also obtain NYS fingerprint clearance prior to the start of employment. Daily hours are 10:15 AM to 1:30 PM (which can fluctuate based on delayed openings, emergency closings and half days).
