• Thank you for visiting the Health and Safety web page. This page will include safety information as well as guidelines on what you can do prior to an emergency.

The Federal Centers for Disease Control recommends the following actions to help protect against contracting flu as well as against COVID-19:
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
If you get sick, stay home and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

You can also call the Orange County Health Department hotline at (845) 291-4300, and the New York State Health Department hotline at 1-800-808-1987.
