Graduates

  • The culmination of your high school years should be endeavors which display maturity, good
    judgment and respect for those who made it all possible. Thank you, in advance, for your
    cooperation. Congratulations to all!

      Senior Chromebook Returns

      • End of year senior Chromebook return instructions:
         
        Please be sure to turn in your Chromebook and charger to your English class when you are finished with it. Chromebooks must be turned in prior to Graduation rehearsal (Wednesday, June 26). If you do not take an English class or cannot turn it into your English class, please turn it in directly to the tech department in room A15. If you cannot find or there is damage to your Chromebook, please notify the tech department as soon as possible. 
         

      Senior Prom

        • Senior Prom tickets will be sold on Wednesday, May 22nd & Thursday, May 23rd after school in the lobby. Any CCHS student wishing to bring a CCHS underclassmen or a non-CCHS guest to the prom must have the guest approved by Mr. Ray prior to the purchase of the guest’s ticket. Guest pass requests are available in both Assistant Principal offices. No guest over the age of 20 will be approved. All guests are required to provide ID with the guest contract at the prom.
        • On Senior Prom Day – Seniors will report to the auditorium 1st period for a mandatory Senior class meeting – this includes students with late arrival. Anyone attending the Prom (seniors and underclassmen) not in school will not be permitted entrance to the prom that evening. There will be a Senior Assembly and breakfast. Seniors with prior parental permission may leave after these meetings (this permission slip will be available for students in Mr. Ray’s office along with guest passes, before tickets go on sale). If CTEC requires their seniors to attend CTEC, these students must attend.
        • No one will be admitted to the Prom after 7:00 PM. Students may not leave the prom prior to 9:00 pm. Any student who leaves will not be allowed to return. All students must have transportation home promptly at 10:00 PM.
        • The Senior Prom is a formal affair and proper attire must be worn.
        • All students and their guests will be expected to abide by the CCHS Code of Conduct; violations will result in discipline for this school sponsored event. The expectation is for a drug and alcohol free prom. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or other controlled substances will be allowed at the prom. There will also be no smoking or vaping allowed at the prom. Please be advised students and/or guests found to be in possession of alcohol and/or drugs, and/or any paraphernalia associated with, or those under reasonable suspicion of being under the influence of either, will be either barred from entering or removed from the dance. Additionally, students will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the District’s Code of Conduct which may include a school suspension and restriction from attending the remainder of senior events including graduation. The District may notify law enforcement officials.

      Finals & Regents Exams

      • Final exams in Senior courses will be given in class as scheduled by the classroom teachers. Seniors in good academic standing may be exempt. The last day of class is June 13th. During the Regents week of June 14th - June 25th students are only to report to school if they have a scheduled Regents.

      Senior Scholarship & Awards Night

      • A special Recognition Night celebrates seniors getting Scholarships and Awards. This will be the only forum where the scholarships and awards will be presented and announced, but information will be printed in the Commencement Program. Please note it is a student’s responsibility to have all scholarship information submitted to guidance by May 15th as per guidelines shared by Guidance. Any post-graduation plans or awards submitted after this date will NOT appear in the Commencement Program.

      Commencement

        • Rehearsal
          • Rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, June 26th at 9:30 AM, rain or shine.
          • All graduates MUST attend rehearsal if they are to participate in the Graduation ceremony.
          • Standard school dress will be expected for rehearsal.
        • Cap and Gown
          • Students were asked to order their caps and gowns from Mixture by February 29.
          • The $35 fee included a cap, gown, and a tassel.
          • Graduates will pick up their cap and gown during morning rehearsal on June 26th.
          • Students are expected to dress in a manner fitting the occasion for the graduation ceremony.
            • For example: dress clothes such as button down shirts w/tie, slacks, skirts, dresses and dress shoes. Failure to dress in a manner fitting the occasion will result in the graduate being asked to return home to dress properly, or, exclusion from the ceremony. Some prohibited dress items are: inappropriate footwear such as sneakers or loose sandals, shorts or jeans. Any adornments to the cap & gown (ex. sashes, pins, tassels) must adhere to guidelines shared by the Senior class advisors. 
        • Graduation – Wednesday, June 26th at 6:00 PM
          • Graduation is held outside in front of the high school.
          • ALL GRADUATES ARE TO REPORT TO THEIR ASSIGNED ROOMS AT 4:45 PM.
          • Graduation will be held rain or shine. If graduation is outside, air-conditioned seating is available in the auditorium through a live feed.
          • In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place in the auditorium with overflow seating in the cafeteria. 
        • Tickets
          • Tickets are not necessary if the ceremony is held outdoors.
          • Seating will be on a first come, first seated basis.
          • In case of rain; due to limited indoor seating, each graduate will receive three (3) tickets for the indoor auditorium ceremony. Tickets will be issued at rehearsal. Only ticket holders will be admitted to the indoor auditorium graduation ceremony.
          • The ceremony will also be live streamed with access from a link on the district website and Cornwall Central High School Facebook page.
        • Parking for Graduation
          • Each graduating senior family will be given one (1) parking pass for their use to park in the high school parking lot. Only those with parking passes will be permitted to park on campus.
          • There will be additional parking available off campus at Mt. Airy Sports Complex and there will be shuttle buses from there to the high school. Please try to carpool because parking spaces are limited.
        • Pictures
          • A professional photographer from Lifetouch Photography will be taking pictures of the graduates as they receive their diplomas. More information to come
        • Lawn Signs
          • Graduation Class of 2024 lawn signs & door banners are being sold by the CCHS PTSO. Please click here for more information.
        • Code of Conduct
          • All graduates are expected to abide by the CCSD Code of Conduct; violations will result in discipline for this school-sponsored event.
          • The expectation is for a drug and alcohol free graduation. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or other controlled substances will be allowed at graduation.
          • There will also be no smoking/vaping allowed on school property in accordance with NYS Law. Any Senior appearing for rehearsal or commencement displaying evidence of any items used for disrupting the ceremony will be excluded from the exercises.
